Ingredients
  

  • 1 Half an onion
  • Low-calorie cooking spray As needed
  • 50 g Grated reduced-fat mature Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard powder
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp Splash of skim milk
  • Salt and pepper To taste
  • 1 Slice of wholemeal bread

Instructions
 

  • Start by finely chopping the onion.

  • In a pan, heat some low-calorie cooking spray and add the chopped onion. Cook until the onion turns golden brown and becomes fragrant. Set aside.

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the grated reduced-fat mature Cheddar cheese, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, a pinch of mustard powder, the egg yolk, and a splash of skim milk. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  • Add the cooked onion to the cheese mixture and season with salt and pepper. Stir until the onion is well distributed throughout the mixture.
  • Take a slice of wholemeal bread and spread a generous layer of the cheese and onion mixture on top. Place the bread under the grill for 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and browned.
  • Remove the Viking Toast from the grill and serve it immediately while it's warm and gooey. Pair it with a hot cup of coffee or tea for a truly satisfying meal.
