Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a non-stick baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into the bowl and mix until well combined.

Gradually pour in the milk and vanilla extract, stirring gently until the batter is smooth.
120 ml Milk, 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Bake for approximately 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the baking dish for 10 minutes.
Transfer the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely before frosting or serving.
