- 2 ounces Tequila
- 1 ounce Freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 ounce Triple sec
- 1 teaspoon Agave nectar or simple syrup
- 1 cup Ice cubes
- Salt for rimming optional
- Lime wedges optional
Start by rimming the glass with salt, if desired. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and dip it in salt for a classic touch.
In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 ounces of tequila, 1 ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice, 1 ounce of triple sec, and 1 teaspoon of agave nectar or simple syrup.
Add 1 cup of ice cubes to the shaker.
Shake the mixture vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill the ingredients and mix them thoroughly.
Strain the margarita into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass for an extra citrusy touch.
