Ingredients
  

  • 500 g chicken thighs or breasts boneless and skinless
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Asian Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch optional, for thickening
  • Sesame seeds and chopped spring onions for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Start by preparing the sauce. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, Asian Sweet Chili Sauce, and water until thoroughly combined.
  • Next, add the chicken pieces to the mixture. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, ideally longer for deeper flavour absorption.
  • While the chicken marinates, you can prepare any side dishes or garnishes.
  • For the cooking process, heat a large pan over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces, reserving the marinade.
  • Cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
  • To thicken the sauce, mix 1 tbsp of cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water and add it to the reserved marinade. Pour the mixture into the pan with the chicken and let it simmer until thickened.
  • Once the sauce has thickened and glazed the chicken, remove from heat. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions before serving.
  • Prepare your chicken by cutting it into your preferred-sized pieces.
  • Combine the marinating ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  • Place the chicken pieces into the marinade and refrigerate.
  • After marinating, remove the chicken from the fridge and let it reach room temperature before cooking.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat; cook the chicken until it's nicely browned.
  • Pour the remaining marinade over the chicken and let it reduce to a thicker sauce.
