Creating the perfect pizza base at home is easier than you may think. With this tried-and-tested recipe for a homemade pizza base, you can enjoy delicious, crispy pizza in the comfort of your own kitchen.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g strong white bread flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 325 ml water lukewarm

Instructions
 

  • Combine flour, salt and yeast in a large bowl.
  • Mix the olive oil and water together and add slowly until you form a dough. Knead the dough for 10-15 minutes, or until it’s smooth and elastic.
  • After kneading, put the dough in a bowl that you have greased with some olive oil. Cover it with cling film and let it rise for at least an hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 240°C or gas mark 9.
  • Divide the dough into two pieces. On a lightly floured surface, roll each piece out to the desired size and thickness of your pizza.
  • Place your pizza toppings on the base. Don't overload it or it will become soggy.
  • Place your pizza in the preheated oven. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are brown and crispy. Remove from oven, let it cool down for a bit, slice it up and enjoy!
