Cuisine Indian
- 3 medium Onions
- 1 cup Gram Flour Besan
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Granules
- 1/2 teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
Start by cutting the onions into thin strips. The thinner the slices, the crispier the bhajis will be.
In a bowl, mix together gram flour, salt, turmeric, cumin, garlic granules, and chili powder. This flavorful batter is the key to achieving the perfect bhaji.
Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, stirring until you have a smooth and thick batter.
Coat the sliced onions with the batter, ensuring each onion strip is evenly coated. This will give your bhajis a deliciously crispy texture.
Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer. The oil should be hot enough to quickly fry the bhajis but not smoking.
Working in small batches, carefully drop the coated onion slices into the hot oil. Fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy.
Remove the bhajis from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
