6 eggs, Liquid honey or sugar
  • Using a whisk or electric mixer, beat the eggs, honey (or sugar), and salt until well combined and the mixture becomes frothy.
    Salt
  • In a saucepan, warm the milk over medium heat until it just starts to simmer. Be careful not to let it boil.
    Milk
  • Slowly pour the warm milk into the egg mixture, whisking continuously to prevent curdling.
  • Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until the eggnog thickens slightly. This usually takes about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove the eggnog from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract to add a delightful aroma.
    Vanilla extract
  • Cover the saucepan with a lid or plastic wrap and let the eggnog cool to room temperature.
  • Once cooled, transfer the eggnog to the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 3 hours, or overnight if possible, to allow the flavors to meld together.
