Sift 225g of plain flour into a large mixing bowl.
Add 110g of unsalted butter and rub it into the flour until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Stir in 110g of caster sugar, a pinch of salt, and any other optional flavorings like cinnamon or nutmeg. Mix well.
Optionally, you can add chopped nuts or oats for a more decadent topping.
Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the prepared fruit mixture.
Peel and core 4 medium-sized apples (or prepare other fruits accordingly).
Cut the fruit into evenly sized chunks and place them in a bowl.
Add sugar, flour, and cinnamon to the fruit. Mix well until coated.
Place the fruit filling evenly in a baking dish or skillet.
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Spread the fruit filling in a baking dish or individual ramekins.
Add the crumble topping on top in an even layer.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and fruit is tender.
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
