Ingredients
  

  • 200 g plain flour
  • 100 g butter cold and diced
  • 75 g caster sugar
  • 75 g demerara sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon optional
  • 1 tsp nutmeg optional
  • A pinch of salt
  • 750 g fruit of your choice
  • 50 g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp lemon juice optional
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract optional
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon optional

Instructions
 

  • Sift 225g of plain flour into a large mixing bowl.
  • Add 110g of unsalted butter and rub it into the flour until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  • Stir in 110g of caster sugar, a pinch of salt, and any other optional flavorings like cinnamon or nutmeg. Mix well.
  • Optionally, you can add chopped nuts or oats for a more decadent topping.
  • Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the prepared fruit mixture.
  • Peel and core 4 medium-sized apples (or prepare other fruits accordingly).
  • Cut the fruit into evenly sized chunks and place them in a bowl.
  • Add sugar, flour, and cinnamon to the fruit. Mix well until coated.
  • Place the fruit filling evenly in a baking dish or skillet.
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Spread the fruit filling in a baking dish or individual ramekins.
  • Add the crumble topping on top in an even layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and fruit is tender.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
