Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2, large Eggs
  • 1 cup Sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and prepare a muffin pan with liners. This will ensure easy removal of the muffins once they are baked.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips. This will ensure that the dry ingredients are evenly distributed and combined.
2 cups All-purpose flour, 1 cup Granulated sugar, 1/2 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons Baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon Salt, 1/2 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: eggs, sour cream or yogurt, oil, milk, and vanilla extract. This will create a smooth and creamy mixture.
2, large Eggs, 1 cup Sour cream or plain yogurt, 1/2 cup Vegetable oil, 1/2 cup Milk, 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, gently fold the two together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in dense muffins.
  • Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin liners, filling them about three-quarters full. This allows room for the muffins to rise while baking.
  • Bake the muffins in the preheated oven for approximately 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This indicates that the muffins are fully cooked.
  • Remove the muffins from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
